A Chapter 13 Plan is the plan document you file with the court. It is purchased separately from your NextChapter subscription and is not included in Pro Basic, Pro Plus, or Whoa.
Cost: $250 per year, per district.
Pricing is per district, so if your firm files in more than one district you will purchase a Chapter 13 Plan for each district you file in.
What's included
Your purchase covers far more than the blank form. You get the district's plan form built into NextChapter and populated directly from the case you have already prepared, plus the tools to build and adjust the plan:
Chapter 13 Plan Calculator — Calculates the monthly plan payment for you. It pulls secured, lease, priority, and unsecured claims with their treatments, applies the unsecured percentage, adds attorney fees and the trustee's fee, and returns the total plan payment and the disposable income needed to fund the plan on Schedule J. No spreadsheets, no manual math.
Chapter 13 Receipt — A downloadable, line-by-line breakdown of every figure behind the calculation, so you can check your work or show a client and trustee exactly how the payment was derived.
Plan Editor — Edit any section of the generated plan directly, so district quirks and case-specific language are easy to handle.
Step payments and conduit payments — Build stepped payment schedules and mark treatments as conduit, with the calculator adjusting automatically.
District-specific plan instructions — A Help Center guide for your district explaining which fields auto-populate, where the data is pulled from, and what to enter by hand.
Ongoing form updates — When your district revises its plan form, the update is made for you at no additional cost for the term of your purchase.
Because the plan draws on the schedules and claims already in the case, changes to the case flow through to the plan and the payment recalculates — amendments do not mean rebuilding the plan from scratch.
How to purchase
Go to Account Settings > Chapter 13 Plans and select the district you need.
Renewal
A Chapter 13 Plan auto-renews on its purchase date, which is separate from your subscription's annual renewal date. To stop it from renewing, go to Account Settings > Chapter 13 Plans and select Do Not Renew next to the plan.
What this is not
NextChapter does not charge a per-case filing fee for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 cases. Case volume is covered by your annual subscription.
Court filing fees are set by and paid directly to the court, not through NextChapter.
