For all courts except the Eastern District of Washington (see notes on this court below), NextChapter does not pay your filing fee with the court. After you have successfully filed a case through NextChapter, you will be given a link to the Notices of Bankruptcy Case Filing. If you click this, it will take you to your case and you can make the filing fee payment.

Some courts also allow for you to get set up to pay the filing fee automatically. Please reach out to your local court for instructions on how to set that up.

Filing in Washington Eastern?

When you file a case in this district, the court requires the filing fees be paid at the time the petition is uploaded and the case is created. Make sure you have a credit card saved on file with your PACER account, and NextChapter will select to pay the fees with the courts site when the case is filed. You will receive an emailed receipt from the court when the case is filed showing the payment of the fees.
