When a Sole Proprietor business is entered once in the debtor profile, the business name, role of debtor, nature of business and business address will be automatically saved to the Miscellaneous > Business Related section in your case. This allows information on a Sole Proprietor Business to populate on line 12 of the Voluntary Petition and line 27 of your SOFA, reducing data entry.

To enter this information in NextChapter, go to 'Client Profile' > 'Debtor Profile' and add a sole proprietor business.

Enter the appropriate information for the debtor's sole proprietor business and click 'Save Address'.

Now you can go to 'Miscellaneous' > 'Business Related' and the information you already entered will populate here. Click the edit option to add more information about the business.

A pop-up will appear in the middle of your screen that will allow you to further edit the business information. For Line 28 of the SOFA, you can 'Add Institution or Creditor' at the bottom of the pop-up screen.

Click here to learn more about how the information in this section can be entered on line 28 of the SOFA.
