NextChapter allows you to create custom exemptions for your firm. This is a great option if there is specific language or specific laws that your Trustee prefers. Once you've added the new exemption, it will be saved for later use for your firm.

You can add new exemptions from two places in the application.

Adding from your settings:

  • From your settings, go to the Exemptions section.

  • Click Create New Exemption Rule.

  • Add in the exemption information and click save.

  • If you would like the exemption to have an unlimited limit, enter $0.00 for the Exemption Limit.

Adding while you're working on a case:

  • When saving the exemption to property in the Real or Personal Property sections, you can select "View all or create new" from the exemption drop-down menu.

  • Create New Exemption Rule.

  • Add in the exemption information and click save.

  • If you would like the exemption to have an unlimited limit, enter $0.00 for the Exemption Limit.
