NextChapter allows users to save multiple bar numbers and sets of ECF credentials to each attorney's account so that attorneys can easily file cases in different districts.

If you are a paralegal/assistant filing, the attorneys My Account Settings > My User Profile will still need to be set up. Once they enter their bar number and ECF username/password, you will able to select their name in Client Profile > Filing Information which is how you NextChapter is able to electronically file (see below for more info about this).

When logged in as the attorney, you can go to My User Profile in your settings page. In the top portion, under My Profile, you can list the information for the court in which you primarily file.

To add new information, you can click New Profile, enter the new information and then click Ok.

When an attorney has multiple profiles saved, you can select which profile should be used in each case assigned to that attorney. Please make sure to match your credentials to the district in which you are filing.

*Please note:  An attorney will only be available for selection if they have the following items completed in their My User Profile section:

  • Role set to Attorney

  • Bar Number

  • Bar State

If you file a couple of one-offs in non-primary districts and do not have an additional profile saved, you can still override your credentials on the Filing page.
