How to add or remove car payments from Schedule J

Vehicle loan payments are added to Schedule J from two places:

1. Secured Claims on Vehicles Owned: If there is a lien on a vehicle owned, NextChapter will add the monthly payment to Schedule J as a car payment, if the intent is NOT to surrender.

These payments will automatically show in the Expenses > Vehicles section. In a Chapter 13 case, if the payment should not be added to Schedule J, you can delete the payment from the Expenses section.

2. Leased Vehicles: Any assumed leases added on a leased vehicle will also be listed in the Executory Contracts section and the monthly payment will be added to Schedule J.

The lease payment will only show in Schedule J as a car payment if the lease is marked as a car lease. To mark the lease as a car lease, edit the lease from the Executory Contract section.

These payments will automatically show in the Expenses > Vehicles section. If the payment should not be added to Schedule J, you can edit and/or delete the payment from the Expenses section.
