Cases can be duplicated, archived, and unarchived at any time. Duplicating a case creates an exact copy you can edit as needed. Archiving a case removes it from the recent case list on the Firm Dashboard and from case search, but does not delete it. You can still access archived cases from an archived list at any time.
Duplicating
Duplicating Cases in Bulk (from the Case List)
To duplicate a case, click the checkbox next to it, then click Duplicate in the menu bar. This creates an exact copy of the case, which you can then edit as needed. Once the case is duplicated, refresh your page to see the copy appear at the top of the list.
To help tell the duplicated cases apart, click View on the case, then go to Client Profile > Debtor Profile to edit the name, chapter, case number, etc.
If the original case is no longer needed after duplicating, you can use the steps below to archive it and avoid confusion.
Archiving
Archiving a Case from Within the Case
To archive a case from within it, click the 3-dot icon next to Preview, then select Archive. (This same menu also offers Duplicate and Export.) Archiving or duplicating takes a few seconds to complete, and you'll see a success message at the top of your screen once finished.
Archiving Cases in Bulk (from the Case List)
To archive cases in bulk, click View All on your recent case list from the home dashboard, then click the checkbox next to each case you want to archive and click Archive in the menu bar.
Unarchiving
To unarchive a case, click View All on your recent case list, click Filter in the menu bar, and select Include Archived at the bottom of the drop-down. This shows all archived cases alongside your active ones.
Once archived cases are showing in your list, click the checkbox next to the case you want to restore, then click Unarchive in the menu bar. This returns the case to the Recent Cases list on your home dashboard.
Deleting
Users do not currently have the ability to permanently delete a case. To avoid a case being deleted by mistake, message our support team if you need one removed.
