NextChapter has now made it easier than ever to create and customize your workflows. When you create new case types, you are then able to customize document checklists, statuses, events, and much more for each case type that you create.

To create new case types, go to My Account Settings > Firm Defaults > Firm Area of Law. To get started, click +Add New Area.

Next, select the area(s) of law for the case type that you'd like to create. If you don't see the area that you are looking for, simply search for the area of law or service.

***Bankruptcy and Restructuring Law and Immigration Law cannot be combined with additional areas of law.

After selecting the area(s) of law, you can then search and select more specific details such as Claims (Causes of Action) and Services (e.g., deposition, trial).

In the example below, we have selected Bankruptcy and Restructuring Law for the area of law and have added more specific details to show that this case type is a US Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

Once you have finished creating your Case Type, click Save & New to create additional case types or click Save & Close.

To create a new case, click +New Case on the top left of your screen and then you will be able to select from the Case Types that you have created.
