Question from Schedule J line 20a: Other real property expenses not included in lines 4 or 5 of this form or on Schedule I: Your Income

Where to enter this in NextChapter: Expenses > Other Properties

Line 20 of Schedule J can be added from the Expenses section. You will first need to visit Expenses > Home and select Yes for the question "Additional non-residential property expenses?"

Once that is completed, you will see a new tab appear in the Expenses section titled Other Properties:

You can visit this section and add all necessary expenses pertaining to line 20 of Schedule J.

Line 20a: Mortgages on other property.

Where to enter this in NextChapter: Expenses > Other Properties > Total Mortgage on Other Properties

Line 20b: Real estate taxes.

Where to enter this in NextChapter: Expenses > Other Properties > Property Taxes

Line 20c: Property, homeowner’s, or renter’s insurance.

Where to enter this in NextChapter: Expenses > Other Properties > Home Insurance

Line 20d: Maintenance, repair, and upkeep expenses.

Where to enter this in NextChapter: Expenses > Other Properties > Repairs / Upkeep

Line 20e: Homeowner’s association or condominium dues.

Where to enter this in NextChapter: Expenses > Other Properties > Condo / HOA Fees
