What is a Merge Tag?

A merge tag is a data point that can be pulled from a case or the firm's settings and then merged into any document.

Firm Created Merge Tags vs. Standard Merge Tags

NextChapter provides a library of pre-created merge tags that pull standard data from the firm's settings or from the case. This list continues to grow as we add more content and as we receive more requests and feedback.

Firm created merge tags generated by the custom fields created by the firm. These fields and the corresponding merge tags are unique to each firm. Learn more about how to create firm created tags here.
