How it works
When you visit Income → Employment Income/ Non-Employment Income, you'll see a banner:
New: let AI fill in your pay advices
Connect your AI assistant once, then use Import with AI from + New Income any time you add income.
*currently only supports Claude. (ChatGPT and Gemini coming soon)
Click Connect Your AI Assistant to set it up now, or Not Now to dismiss it (you can connect later).

Setting up the connection
Clicking Connect Your AI Assistant takes you to My Account Settings → Integrations → AI Connector:
This screen explains how the connection works:
To connect, copy the Connector address shown on this page (e.g. https://test.nextchapterbk.com/mcp) and paste it into your AI accounts connector settings, then click Connect Your AI Assistant.
Once connected, you're taken back to Income, and the banner updates to show your assistant is connected.
Importing a pay advice
Click + New Income.
At the top of the modal, choose Import with AI.
You can import additional pay advices the same way at any time.
Once imported, the relevant fields are filled in automatically and calculations are handled for you — but every value is shown for your review before anything is saved.
What your AI assistant can and can't do:
Your connected assistant can only import pay advices — it reads new pay stubs and adds them as new entries. It cannot edit, overwrite, or delete pay advice data that's already been imported or entered into NextChapter. Any changes to existing entries still need to be made manually.
Managing or disconnecting
To reconnect, switch assistants, or disconnect, go back to My Account Settings → Integrations → AI Connector.
Protecting Client Information
*Before you connect: Pay advices contain sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, wage detail, and employer information. When you import them, that information is sent to your AI provider through your own account. Turning off machine learning keeps it out of model training, but you remain responsible for handling client information in line with your professional and ethical obligations. We recommend reviewing your AI provider's data retention policy before you begin, and redacting anything your firm does not want transmitted.
