All downloading and printing in NextChapter happens through the Download & Print section of your case. From here, you can generate a complete bankruptcy petition packet, individual forms or schedules, amended forms, signature-only pages, and documents for non-bankruptcy case types.
Getting Started
In the Download & Print section, you'll see three columns:
Left column — all available forms and documents for your case (this includes any documents you previously uploaded to Additional Documents > Client Document Storage)
Middle column — "PDF Packet 1," where forms you want bundled into a single download go
Right column — used for Additional PDF Packets, when you want separate files instead of one combined packet
Any forms placed together in the same packet column will be merged and downloaded as a single PDF file.
Downloading the Complete Bankruptcy Petition
To download the entire petition as one PDF:
From the dropdown at the top of the PDF Packet 1 column, select Complete Bankruptcy Petition (all forms and schedules).
This moves all standard forms and schedules into the middle column automatically:
Any additional documents you previously uploaded to Client Document Storage will still appear in the Available Forms & Documents column. Drag and drop them into the middle column if you'd like them included in the packet.
Click Download.
When the download finishes, a popup will appear with the PDF packet. Click the orange "PDF Packet 1" bar to open and save your documents.
Important: Clicking outside the popup (e.g., "Complete") will close it without downloading. The form(s) do not save automatically to your computer, you must click into the PDF Packet bar to trigger the actual download.
Creditor Matrix (Creditor.txt) and SSN Form
The Creditor Matrix and SSN form are automatically included whenever you select the complete petition for download.
Downloading Individual Forms or Schedules
If you only need one or a few specific forms (rather than the full petition):
2. Click Download, then click the PDF Packet 1 bar in the popup to open your file.
Any forms dragged into the same column will be combined into a single PDF.
Downloading Forms as Separate Files
If you want multiple forms downloaded individually rather than merged into one packet:
Click +Add Additional PDF Packets in the right-hand column.
Drag and drop each form into its own packet box.
You can add as many separate packet boxes as needed. Forms placed within the same packet box will still be merged with each other, but each box downloads as its own separate file.
Amended Forms
To generate a form marked as amended (for refiling):
Signature Pages Only
To generate just the signature page(s) for a form, without the full form content:
Use the dropdown menu and select Signature Pages.
This generates a version of the form containing only the signature lines.
You can also choose, from the Download section, whether to remove electronic signatures from forms so your client can sign them physically.
Downloading Documents for Non-Bankruptcy Case Types
For case types outside of standard bankruptcy filings, document handling works a bit differently:
Go to Client Document Storage to upload any document associated with your case (PDF, DOCX, and other file types are support.
Go to Download & Print. Please note that only PDFs will appear and be available for download from this section, even if other file types were uploaded to storage.
Drag and drop the form(s) you want from the left-hand column into the middle column, then click Download.
As with bankruptcy forms, anything placed together in the middle column merges into a single packet. To keep certain documents separate, use +Add Additional PDF Packets in the right-hand column instead.
Click the PDF Packet 1 bar in the popup to open and save your documents.
