Note: The ability to create and track Custom Fields is a feature exclusive to Pro+ and Whoa subscribers.

1. Create Custom Fields in Firm Settings

Before you can track specific staff members, you must ensure those fields are available in your cases.

  • Navigate to the Custom Fields tab of your Account Settings by clicking on your firm name in the top right corner.

  • Create a new field labeled "Paralegal Name." Set the field type to Dropdown and input your paralegals' names.

  • Make sure it's checked as "Informational Only" to appear in the Quick Info section of your cases

2. Assign Data Within the Case

For the report to work, the data must be entered inside each individual case file.

  • Open a Case

  • In the Quick Info section, select the assigned staff member from your newly created "Paralegal Name" dropdown.

  • As work progresses, update the Petition Prep status (e.g., In Progress, Ready to File, Filed) so the report reflects real-time data.

3. Customize the All Cases View

  • From the NextChapter Homepage, click the All Cases view.

  • Click the Columns dropdown menu.

  • Turn on the checkbox for Paralegal Name and any other custom fields you'd like in your report.

4. Export the Report

  • Download Data: Click the Download button to save the current view to your device

  • Share Insights: Use this exported file to balance workloads during team meetings or to identify bottlenecks in petition drafting.
