βš–οΈ Attorney Responsibilities

To ensure smooth collaboration and compliance, attorneys agree to the following:

πŸ’Ό Professional Responsibility Compliance

  • Adhere to all professional responsibility obligations, including obtaining debtor consent for outsourcing services to NextChapter VPs.

πŸ“‚ Provide Complete Case Information

  • Supply all necessary case details, including debtor questionnaires and completed information from MyChapter.

  • Upload supporting documents and case materials to the Client Document Storage Folder.

πŸ” Review & Authorization

  • Timely review debtor information in MyChapter.

  • If desired, authorize NextChapter VPs to contact the debtor directly for additional information.

🧾 Draft Preparation

  • Once information is complete, direct NextChapter VPs to prepare a draft of the bankruptcy petition and schedules, including the Means Test.

πŸ—‚οΈ Debtor Review

  • Send the draft petition and schedules to the debtor for review or authorize NextChapter VPs to do so on your behalf.

βœ… Approval & Filing

  • Review and approve the bankruptcy petition and all schedules promptly.

  • If desired, direct the Virtual Paralegal to file the case electronically with the court.

By using NextChapter Virtual Paralegal Services, the attorney acknowledges that they:

  • Understand these services are contract-based and not a replacement for in-house staff.

  • Accept full responsibility for all legal decisions related to the case.

  • Agree to follow the outlined attorney responsibilities to maintain timely and compliant case preparation.
