NextChapter VPs provide services that include drafting petitions, schedules, and related documents for assigned cases.
Virtual Paralegals do not practice law, and all legal decisions remain the sole responsibility of the attorney.

💬 Paralegal Response & Workflow
Once a paralegal has accepted a case, they will contact the attorney within 24 hours.*
Paralegals will respond to all attorney outreach within 24 hours.*
Attorney will receive an email introduction and a request to schedule an introductory call to discuss workflow, expectations, and communication preferences.
All Virtual Paralegals are independent contractors. Many balance full-time roles and dedicate their evening and weekend hours to NextChapter cases.
3-week turnaround time to prepare cases, where both attorney and debtor are responsive and all documents and missing information are provided.
After 2-3 unanswered attempts to get in touch with the attorney or debtor, the case is placed on hold until a follow-up is received. After 6 months of no update, the case is cancelled.
Attorney has a deadline of 30 days to review finalized drafts. After 30 days and a follow from the paralegal, if no response, the case is moved to hold.
$100 charge for cases where the means test needs to be updated after 30 days of being submitted to the attorney for review.
*Excluding holidays or other extenuating circumstances.
📅 Case Volume & Scheduling Guidelines
For emergency cases that are urgent cases with deadlines under 48 hours, contact paralegal@nextchapterbk.com prior to purchase to confirm availability and pricing.
If assigning more than five cases within a 30 day period, please reach out to sales@nextchapterbk.com in advance to ensure workload capacity.
For emergency cases (bare bones / skeleton filings), the case is charged at our emergency rate, and includes filing supplemental documents within the 14 day court deadline (as long as all documents are provided and the attorney and debtor are responsive).
💳 Refunds & Finality of Service
All purchases for Virtual Paralegal Services are final.
By assigning cases, attorneys acknowledge and agree that no refunds will be issued, as outlined in the service agreement.
